Introduction

The Global Citizenship Foundation (GCF) is committed to fostering an environment of ​integrity, respect, and collaboration within its various bodies, including Working Groups, ​International Advisory Board, Observers, Board Members, Category-One Members, ​Honorary Members, and other stakeholders engaged in the governance structures of ​the Global Citizenship Foundation


This Code of Conduct and Ethics serves as a guiding framework to uphold the values ​and principles of the GCF and to ensure that all members contribute positively to our ​global mandate. The GCF remains dedicated to continuous improvement, guided by ​the values outlined in this Code, and encourages all members to actively uphold and ​promote these principles in their engagement with the organization.

The GCF is dedicated to fostering positive global change through collaborative efforts. ​This Code of Conduct and Ethics is essential to maintaining the reputation and ​effectiveness of the organization. This code applies to all full and non-full members of the Global Citizenship Foundation ​including those serving in the Working Groups, International Advisory Board, Observers ​Positions, Directorate, and other governance bodies. It guides individuals in upholding ​GCF's values, fostering integrity, respect, and collaboration to collectively advance our ​global mission.

Principles

  • Respect and Inclusion:
    • Treat all individuals with respect and dignity, valuing diverse perspectives and ​backgrounds.
    • Avoid discriminatory behavior, language, or actions based on any protected ​characteristic.


  • Collaboration and Cooperation:
    • Foster a collaborative and cooperative spirit among members, recognizing the ​collective strength in diverse expertise.
    • Contribute actively to the goals of the GCF and its initiatives.


  • Confidentiality:
    • Safeguard confidential information shared within the GCF, respecting the ​privacy and trust placed in each member.
    • Refrain from disclosing sensitive information without proper authorization.


  • Compliance with Laws and Policies:
    • Adhere to all applicable laws and regulations governing the activities of the GCF.
    • Comply with the organization's policies and procedures including the Directive ​on Working Group Membership [No. Dir-DG-2024020301].


  • Transparency and Accountability:
    • Be transparent in communications and actions, providing accurate and truthful ​information.
    • Take responsibility for individual contributions and learn from constructive ​feedback.


  • Avoidance of Harm:
    • Refrain from engaging in any activity that may cause harm or bring disrepute to ​the GCF or its members.


  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Strive for continuous personal and professional development, contributing to the ​growth and effectiveness of the GCF.


  • Adherence to Decision-Making Processes:
    • Respect and adhere to established decision-making processes within the GCF, ​promoting a democratic and inclusive approach.


  • Reporting Violations:
    • Report any violations of this Code of Conduct and Ethics promptly to the ​appropriate authorities within the GCF.


  • Integrity and Accountability:
    • Members of the GCF uphold the highest standards of integrity, honesty, and ​accountability in all their interactions and endeavors, aligning their actions with ​the organization's mission and values.

The Global Citizenship Foundation is a registered not-​for-profit specialist organization with a mandate to ​foster active global citizenship and Global Citizenship ​Education (GCED). The seat of the Global Citizenship F​oundation in the European Union is in Tallinn, Estonia.
